Andy Schofield (UK)

Andy Schofield is a saxophonist/composer/arranger and teacher from Manchester UK, now living in Prague, CZ. He was a founder member of the Creative Jazz Orchestra, working alongside such international artists as Kenny Wheeler, Bill Frisell, Peter Erskine, Anthony Braxton, Mike Gibbs, Vince Mendoza and John Taylor. In 2019 his CD of original music, "Suite For JT", was released on the Animal Records label, featuring prominent musicians from the Czech jazz scene.

Andy is very active in the European jazz scene. He co-leads the Jazz Dock Orchestra in Prague, and is also the main composer and arranger for the band. He currently plays lead alto in Nikki Iles’ Jazz Orchestra in the UK, in recent years and has been a featured soloist with the Czech Radio Big Band and UMO big band in Helsinki.
